Founded on June 2, 1916, the Gamma Tau Chapter of the Kappa Sigma was built on the foundation of Fellowship, Leadership, Scholarship, and Service. The Brothers of Gamma Tau have demonstrated a dedication to excellence, and a commitment to making a positive impact on our community. Gamma Tau has a strong presence on the CU campus boasting a student government Tri-Executive, Finance Board Chairman , and Legislative Council members, and brothers who are active in ROTC, and various student governments. As a reward for their hard work during the week, the members of Gamma Tau enjoy a very active social life.
Various events include socials with sororities, philanthropies, date dashes, tailgates, road trips, camping, themed parties including the famous “Hollywood” party, and a luxurious formal weekend in Beaver Creek.
Our Brothers In Action Member Development Program elevates the purpose and benefits of Pledging. With our experience-based Boulder’s Finest Men Program, all members learn valuable lessons from one another such as golf, shooting, dancing, etiquette, and more, as well as professional experience from our very active and successful alumni base.
Kappa Sigma is the most preferred fraternity in North America. Currently more men join Kappa Sigma than any other fraternity. Originally founded in 1400 at the University of Bologna in Italy. Kappa Sigma is also the oldest fraternity in the world. Since it was founded in American at the University of Virginia in 1869, the fraternity is now represented on almost 250 chapters across the country with more than 250,000 initiated members. Kappa Sigma awards over $300,000 in scholarships to undergraduate members each year as part of the Fraternity’s commitment to scholarship and academic excellence. Kappa Sigma is committed to raising the bar in giving back to the community. Each year, Kappa Sigma members donate half a million dollars and over 390,000 work hours to charitable causes.
The members of this Kappa Sigma fraternity joined for the opportunity to make a difference and to build a tradition of excellence. Just in the this past year, the gentlemen of this chapter has raised the bar receiving the district conclave cup as the best Kappa Sigma Chapter in the State, 2011 Greek Week Football Champions, and receive 100% of accepted recruitment bids for the 2011 Spring Semester. Joining Kappa Sigma gives young men the opportunity to build themselves as an individual and as a leader while enjoying an unbeatable college experience.
